While the dog days of August have just begun, we all know that summer won’t last forever. If you haven’t been to any water parks this season, you still have some time to hit the pool and ride the slides before they close their gates for the end of the season!

Shipwreck Cove

Nothing sparks a child’s imagination than the sight of a pirate ship, and your family will be thrilled by the swashbuckling adventures that await at Shipwreck Cove in Duncan. Whether the kids want to spiral their way down colorful slides, splash around in the kiddie pool, or just coast along the lazy river while schooldays seem far away, there’s sure to be fun and game for everyone. The refreshment center has plenty of cool beverages and snacks to keep the energy up, and staff is always nearby to make sure everyone is safe and sound while they have fun in the sun. on August 9, they’ll also host a special Dive in Movie Night.

You can visit the water park on Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The waterpark will be open until September 2, so plan your trip soon! Shipwreck Cove is located at 119 South Spencer Street Duncan, South Carolina 29334.

Discovery Island

All ages can enjoy the variety of attractions at Discovery Island Waterpark in Simpsonville. The beach-style pool is surrounded by a sunny lounging area, and in the shallow end, kids can have a day’s worth of fun on the four-tier slide structure. On the far end of the pool, a 25-foot tower leads back down to the water through some wild slides, and you can grab a tube and share the ride with a friend. Guests looking for some surf can try out the FlowRider Perpetual Wave experience to boogieboard. If you’re just looking to chill for a while, you can drift down the lazy river that winds through the park.

The water park is open on Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The gates will close for the season on September 2, so don’t miss out! Discovery Island is located at 417 Baldwin Road, Simpsonville, South Carolina 29680.

Otter Creek Waterpark

Residents of Greenville can visit Otter Creek to enjoy its curving slides, picnic area, and splash pad. With its large sundeck, four party huts, and 7,000-square-foot leisure pool, it’s an irresistible destination for a relaxing summer getaway.

The water park is open on Monday to Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. It will close for autumn on September 2. Otter Creek is located at 101 W. Darby Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29609.

Waggin’ at the Waterpark

On September 7, your four-legged friends are welcome to make a splash at Discovery Island. You can bring a Frisbee for a game of fetch, or just let them doggie paddle with you in the pool. If you’re closer to Greenville, Otter Creek will host its own Waggin’ event on September 21.
