See The Harlem Globetrotters In Greenville

With their star-spangled uniforms and animated hijinks, the Harlem Globetrotters have delighted families and sports fans around the world since 1926. You can catch their humor-loaded exhibition basketball game in Greenville this January, so grab your tickets and get ready to laugh.

When and Where

The Globetrotters will play at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Saturday, January 4. The game starts at 2 p.m. Admission starts at $23.50, and you can order your tickets via Ticketmaster. The arena is located at 650 Academy Street North, Greenville, South Carolina 29601.

The World Tour

Last month, the Harlem Globetrotters embarked on their Pushing the Limits World Tour, with dates in 30 countries and 250 North American venues. This outing marks their 94th year of touring, and the team is bringing all their athletic antics to courts near and far. The team will be joined by their longtime rivals, the Washington Generals.

The Sky-High Trick Shot

Long before YouTube stars built massive followings with clever trick shot videos, the Harlem Globetrotters had already made a name for themselves with their amazing skill and spectacular plays. A team known for their tightly coordinated juggling, passing, and long-distance goals had to get creative to one-up themselves for World Trick Shot Day, and last December, they left the ground behind. After leaping from a plane 13,000 feet in the air, Hammer Harrison nailed the world’s first skydiving trick shot.

Anybody’s Game?

When you watch a basketball player climb a ladder to slam dunk on the opposing team, you may assume that their victory is a foregone conclusion. That’s not necessarily the case, however. While the Globetrotters pre-plan the performance aspects of their exhibition, they’re not guaranteed to win. When the Generals are on offense, they really do play a legitimate game. In one infamous matchup in 1971, the Globetrotters lost track of the score while performing their usual hijinks. With the clock ticking down to zero and the opposing team leading, Meadowlark Lemon made a desperate shot that missed the goal. To the crowd’s surprise, the perennial underdog team broke their 2,495-game losing streak.
